I’m a firm believer in making all of the little things in life
a really big deal.

Do you remember that viral TikTok

the one where the girl was like ‘You HAVE to start romanticizing your life…’

In addition to being the origin story of some of the sweetest (and also some of the funniest, most ironic) videos to grace the Internet, that audio was the first time I felt like someone really got me.

I looooove to romanticize my life. I’ll make the biggest deal out of the smallest occurrence. I’ll make up holidays and anniversaries out of even the most minute life events (like monthiversaries, Friday Eve, and Morning Recess). I’ll give the most menial details in my life a purpose, because, like… why TF not?

That’s really all writing really is, ya know?

Finding the words to romanticize even the smallest details.

Stringing together sentences that celebrate what makes you you.

Wait

Before I go all woo-woo-philosophical-English-major on you, let’s talk about what makes me me.

hold on

Hi, I’m Jessie, and I’ve been told I have a way with words.

(Occasionally as a backhanded way of telling me to stop talking so much, but a way with words nonetheless!)

I've wanted to be writer for as long as I can remember, and I have the first handwritten, hamburger-folded, and hand-stapled "novel" I ever wrote to prove it (it was a second grader's ever creative, totally unique, and not-ever-been-done-before retelling of Cinderella, of course).

I joke that I've lived a million different lives in the 27 years I've been alive.

And that's only kind of an exaggeration.

I'm the oldest of three kids from a military family, and I moved 10 times before I turned 18. Eight states, three high schools later, and a million “Name, Fun Fact, and One Thing You’re Looking Forward To This Year”s later, making conversation and telling stories seemed like the perfect gig for me.

Sh*t I Care About

(that you should care about, too)

FUN

Not to be dramatic, but… if it’s not fun, why are we doing it? I’m here to write some words that celebrate amazing people and the work they’re doing– and have a good time doing it.

CREATIVITY

I approach writing like the art form that it is. Writing-- creating really, truly, "Ooooh, I feel this in my bones," good writing-- is a creative act that I don’t take lightly.

INCLUSIVITY

At the risk of sounding trite, I do it for the girls, gays, and theys– that’s it. I’m dedicated to giving a voice to the minority-led brands, and I’m passionate about bringing them the hype they deserve.

CONNECTION

Words are a means for connection, not a vehicle for SEO keywords. I write copy with a focus on connection first, and optimization and whatever tf else second.

To give women, LGBTQIA+, and minority founders the hype they deserve through fun, fearless, conversation-starting copy.

My Mission

When I was in college, I started putting together lists of things my friends had to read, watch, or listen to before our next meetup.

Yes, I was (am) insufferable! Moving on.

Since then, I’ve kept a running list of all of the things I love, that I wish people would read, watch, or listen to before we worked together– for no other reason than I love a niche shared interest, of course.
